About Me:
Hi, i am a single mom from the south. I have always had extremely thick hair. It was like my trademark lol. At least twice a week, someone would mention my hair being beautiful. I took this for granted. I shrugged it off, i would think, what is the big deal. I never noticed other peoples hair. I felt like my hair was my "identity" because I have always stuck out like a sore thumb. I am tall and always been overweight. My face is average. I only saw my hair is the only beautiful feature i had. I have been struggling now for 3 years with my identity. Trying to accept what is happening to me. Actually, there are days when I feel really strong. Then other days, I feel very low. I still have a decent amount of hair. It is really not noticeable because I do things to disguise the thinness. I know if the shedding doesn't stop I will be bald. I really admire the women that do wear their hair completely bald. I have seriously considered going completely bald if the shedding continues. I am really happy that I have found this website. I am looking forward to making some real friends here.

Angela, Yes, sharing your thoughts (when you're ready) will not only help you but it will also help others suffering from hair loss. I have found that by sharing my story and photos with other on here, has not only help me through the process of dealing with this but it has also helped and inspired so many others. I truly understand how you feel this has been a very difficult situation for me to handle in the beginning, but I have come a long way since I was diagnosed with CCCA. I can now walk around with my shaved head with confidence. Of course, I still have my days where I'm sad that I have alopecia, but I know that I have to take it one day at a time. Keep in touch. I'm here for you whenever you need someone to talk to..
