Steroid foam?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Mona422 Aug 26, 2013. 4 Replies

My Dr gave me this steroid foam to help with the itch and I had to chop my hair to get it to my scalp because some of my head still has very thick hair. It makes my hair feel so gross. Anyone else…Continue

So among my patches it seems that my parts are growing thicker and thicker. Does anyone have experience with this?

Very silly but still wondering....

Talogen effluvium and stress

Posted on August 27, 2013 at 1:00pm 2 Comments

So.. after seeing multiple doctors, I think we have figured out what I have and what is causing it. I have Talogen Effluvium. I have a new shampoo and lotion to help with the itching.

Here's the bad news: Its stress related, I'm doing everything I possibly can to reduce stress (i.e. eating right, exercising, meditating, multivitamin, etc) but the stressor seems to be my husband's job. The worse news is that we are under contract for another 2 years. So I dont' know what I'm doing to…

Waiting waiting

Sitting at the dermatologist office... What will the verdict be? Waiting is the worst, especially when you have to pee. ;)

I hate it when people say...

I'm going to preface by noting that I am at the beginning of my AA journey, and I do have a lot of hair left, but I am slowly balding.

I hate it when people say, "you can't tell" or "you look fine" (something I'm sure we all never want to hear, fine is such a lying word).

But -I- can tell. My hair itches and hurts at the same time. I can feel the breeze on my scalp for the first time in my life and its weir ding me out. My husband comments on how I look like a little boy… Continue

Steroid foam

Posted on August 14, 2013 at 12:26pm 0 Comments

So I officially have AA and my dr put me on steroid foam to help with the itching. Problem is, with the texture of my hair it's hard to get in my scalp so I think I'm going to go to Great Clips and get it cut super short. It doesn't matter how it really looks anyway because I have to wear a hat because this stuff makes my hair look gross anyway. But after months and months, I finally have a diagnosis and I feel so relieved. Hallelujah!

I joined this site to tell everybody how I cured my AA. I am not here as a psychological support group person. I cured it. It took a lot of research and thinking outside the box. Look at the bottom of my home page by clicking on my avatar picture and look below my profile. Iodine(best in the form of kelp at 100% or slightly more but not too much and biotin and I went from nearly bald for a year to hair everywhere in just a few weeks. I have helped two other people with patchy bald spots to recover.
