About Me:
I am a 29 (soon to be 30) woman with who was diagnosed with Androgenetic Alopecia. I am also a person who has a autism spectrum disorder, yet you wouldn't know it. I enjoy my free time reading, playing video games, watching documentaries and movies, spending time with friends, the outdoors, and art.

This journey has been a battle and it would be a lie to say that there weren't times where I had a few meltdowns. I am hoping that by sharing my experiences, my successes and my failures that I can reach out to others to say that they can and will overcome this demon that just loves to whisper in our ears.

Found my first bald spot

It's finally apparent. I found a wide bald spot in the bang area where my part is. No matter how I style it it still shows. Trying not to panic but it's hard. Really need some encouraging words right now. Someone...anyone...

So, the obsession begins again.

I look in the mirror as I brush my hair. I see the balding spots. I touch the top of my head. I feel my scalp and my fingers easily can feel it through the thin hair. I remember the time when I got my hair cut short to try to make it look thicker. My husband gave me a disappointed look when I returned home. Hes told me plenty of times how much he loves my hair and redhead in general. Don't get me wrong, he really is a great guy...but.....it saddens me…

As I sit here writing my first thought down on the Alopecia network, my cat trying to get me to get off the computer so she can have all the attention, I wonder , is God trying to tell me something? I still can remember the day when I was 16, my mother took me to see a endroconologist (if thats how you spell it) because I was experiencing abnormal hair growth where hair should be growing on my body, acne, and (surprise) hair loss.

I am struggling so badly and taking this so hard any help appreciated and someday maybe I can pay it forward. Right now so embarrassed and humiliated by this. Can not find a wig and feel really wierd near them, I am very allergic and they have a smell. So hurting tried counselling, etc
