Vancouver Alopecia Areata Support Group

Hello Vancouverites! Connecting is one of the best ways to feel happier and become more informed! Come as you are, whether you are shy or outgoing. This is a genuine and fun group where all of us - new to alopecia or experienced, hair-wearer or au natural, seeking treatment or not - all come together and be supportive, informative, and positive for one another. After 4+ years of running this group, I can say for sure that you'll feel better after a meetup! :)

Come to our monthly meetups, or, start by joining this group and be in the loop of upcoming meetups! Sometimes I include alopecia news / remedy / stories too.

If your kid / teen has alopecia, please contact us and we'll put you in touch with other parents! It'll be, I believe, quite awesome for your child :)

Upcoming Meetups

This group gets together monthly at one of the members' homes - a cozy, positive, and fun environment, for those with alopecia. We are here to support one another, and every meetup has been amazingly mood-lifting.

Join us here and we'll send next meeting details to you in a group email!

You can always get a hold of us via AW messaging or at alopecia.vancouver[at]gmail.com

We are affiliated with CANAAF (Canadian Alopecia Areata Foundation).

Next meet up: We meet about once a month. Please email Tanya at the emil address above!

My grandmother's last night in Vancouver so I will be with her before she heads home. Enjoy the meeting!

Hi everyone! And welcome, new members! :)

I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone soon! There's an upcoming NAAF get-together hosted by Enzina on Sept 8th. The group has 40 members, so the turnout should be good. Let's all go!

See details here.

Enzina is the founder of the NAAF group in Vancouver. As an official NAAF group, it is required to have a doctor present at every meet-up. I think it's a more open environment if a doctor isn't always there. On the other hand, I've never been to this meetup. If it has a good vibe then we can merge the two groups!

In any case, it'll be good times. See you all there! :)

Hey! Thanks for stopping by!

My name is Tanya, and recently a group of 4 of us (Cati, Chris, Elenore, and I - plus Janeen for next meeting! :)) in Vancouver met up and had an awesome meeting. We all wanted to expand the group and make this a place where anyone can feel at home.

I used to live in Victoria, and went to a wonderful Victoria meetup created by Fay M. The atmosphere was so chill and positive, and we always laughed so much and felt great after our get-together!

Cati said to me, "You don't think you need [fill in the blank], until you have it and realize how much better you feel!" I hope this support group will be exactly this for you. There hasn't been a Vancouver meetup, and maybe we can get on without it, but let's get on with it and feel awesome. Whatever perspective you have on alopecia, whatever support you need or want to offer or just want to hang out - join up! Good times I promise :)

cheers,
Tanya
