Hi Ellen,

My name is Joan.  I developed alopecia areata about a year ago and now have 2 bald spots on side of head.  Also have diffuse hairloss. I would be very interested in forming a group.  I live in Caldwell but wouldn't mind travelling down to Metuchen for a discussion group.  Maybe we could start with lunch?

Hope to talk to you.

Hello HSchram,

Have you heard of the Children's Alopecia Project?    They have a group in Lakewood.  This is their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ChildrensAlopeciaProject

Sorry this welcome is a little late but I'm glad you found this site. There are many knowledgeable people who can guide you through, who know how you feel and were once just as scared, confused, and questioning as you are!!! You are not alone!!!:)

Hi everyone!

I developed AA in 2009, which quickly progressed to AU. Last year my hair started growing back. But now is in the process of falling out. I have attended the NYC support group, and would like to try and form some sort of discussion group in NJ. From what I can tell, it seems like most people are in Northern NJ. I am in Metuchen, which is in Middlesex county. And honestly, I have a local church we could meet at :). I would just like to try and get a few people together. I think this would be a really wonderful opportunity to share our experiences and gain some support from people going through the same things. Let me know if anyone would be interested!

:) Ellen

Hello, my son is 15 years old and was diagnosed with AA in May.  I am looking for others who may have children or teens who are dealing with AA.  I hear about support groups but am uncertain if there are any with just children or teens. I would think they would be more comfortable sharing with others in their age range than in a group with all  adults.  I live in Northern NJ (Morristown, Morris County area).  Please reply

if you have any information or any ideas. Thanks!
