It's Hair Loss Support At Its Best
Hi, I just joined Alopecia World, and then Ohio Alopecians. My 12 year old daughter started getting spots from AA about 4 years ago. About one year ago, it progressed to full-blown AU, and it has been really difficult. She is a wonderful, positive, beautiful young lady, but I am looking for a little help. I do not have alopecia, so I can't really directly relate to what she is going through. She has been positive and so strong through this all, but I think she would benefit from speaking with other alopecians. Is there a support group or members of this group that are located near Columbus?
Also, any other meaningful advice is welcome. She is my little girl, and I want to give her all the support, love and guidance that I can.
Contact www.naaf.org if you have not done so already.
Look for a local support group or start one if none are in your immediate area.
My son also has Alopecia. Lucas was diagnosed last year in July and has had a terrible time socially. We live in the Cleveland area.
Sorry to hear that. It is hard for anyone to deal with this, much less a child. Have you worked with Wigs for Kids? They are in Westlake, Ohio and are a wonderful non-profit that provides very high quality wigs to children suffering from hairloss. My daughter received hers in May and it has been very helpful.
