I don't get the point. Is a man not allowed to shave his head. My hair is thin, I look better bald.

Hey Jim... I hope you get some more answers than just mine!

I think this is a question that is very easy to answer when you don't put much thought behind it. My first reaction was "I wouldn't care at all!" Then I looked back at the guys I have dated and a lot of them had hair to the middle of their backs, a few had marine cuts, a few just had short hair. I never dated a guy who was bald or who had a shaved head. Saying that, I would not judge a guy even the slightest if he wanted to shave his head. I think that men look good with or without hair. I think you have to do what makes you feel good at the moment. I have spent years trying to please others with my looks bringing me to the lowest of lows with my self esteem and for WHAT? The guys I were dating STILL left me and I was still stuck with myself in the end. If a relationship is meant to be, it will stand through the worst of worst and believe me a shaved head is hardly the worst. I don't mean to say that this isn't a hard decision for a guy because I don't know what this is like from a males point of view. I'm sure than men hurt just as much as women when they are losing their hair. But, I would still do what makes you happy because when all is said and done, you are the one who has to live with yourself in the end. YOU will ALWAYS have YOU.... You can't guarantee a relationship to last and if it doesn't, you want to make sure you were at least happy in it. I'm guessing you are asking this because of a relationship you are in? Just be happy and do what makes YOU happy! If the girl really likes YOU for YOU, then it shouldn't be an issue! Take care... :)

Gray, yes they do have the right to shave their head, just as a women has the same rights. But, please read the question again and remember it is addressed to women (but you thoughts are welcomed) who has Alopecia.

Julie, close but not the answer I was looking for. I was asking women who have Alopecia what they would do if the man in her life decided to shave his head, HOW would she take it? Her thoughts.

I wouldn't care at all. It's normal for men to have shaved heads.
