Anyone take Plaquenil? A flair up of polymyalgia and dr put me on it instead of back onto prednisone as I was already on that for a few years and didn't want to go back on it. Plaquenil made me so nauseous but now after a few months I don't feel quite so bad but have lost weight as my appetite is nowhere near where it was. Also have the itchies like you wouldn't believe. Am sticking with it as it seems to help although not eliminate the pain.

Hi All,
I found out at age 18 I have Addison's Disease, Pres. Kennedy had it, too I've been taking cortisone for 35 years, now.
I was also thought to have incefelitis at age 8? Or maybe not?
Then came psoriasis at around 28 and then Thyroid disease.
AA patches started in 2007 before my Wedding, hair came back.
In about 2010 lost all hair in 2 months.
My Father and Brother both had forms of AA and psoriasis too.
My worst fear AA, due to Hereditary, much stress, look what I got. About 3 years now, also in my 50's and menopause too. Does that have any connection to AA?? Just sharing

Been off prednisone for about 2 months now and holding my own. Still stiffness and pain in hips and left leg but nothing like it was. Walking is still slow and I think I've seen the last of my running days which saddens me..I thought I'd be doing that into old age :-(

Good morning everyone. Went to my Optometrist yesterday for dry eyes that have been getting worse for about a month. I saw him in December nad he told me that i have some scratching on my cornea ( the clear covering of the eye) since December my eyes have started burning and get tired eyes everyday. I have Sjrogen's symdrome along with the AA, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Grave's Disease ( hyperthyroid) and something else the Dr's can't yet pinpoint - thinking it's Fibromyalgia.
I found out that Sjogren's, AA and Grave's can have a negative effect on your tear production thus affecting your eye's. I have been put on two different eye drops.I have to go back in two weeks for him to see if my cornea looks any better.
Don't know if any of you have the same issues but though I'd let people know. Take Care and Happy Saturday. Kat

I'll join in the fun and say that I have AU, Hashimoto's, lupus, and intracranial hypertension (which may or may not be because of the autoimmune stuff, just not sure).
