Hey all. I have been hypothyroid for almost 2 years now. For the first 9 months I did ok on levoxyl. But now...I ache all the time, very cold and have horrible hair loss now even with my TSH, t4 and t3 normal. I have been switched to synthroid and then armour thyroid with the same problems. Does anyone else feel that horrible?

Hi everyone,<br />
It's sinking in that if you have one AI condition you're more likely to have a second...and with two, even more likely to have a third. What experiences do you have? Anyone know of any research or predictions? Thanks for sharing.....MB

I have a kind of odd question. Does any one of you have tinnitus? If you don't know what that is, it's a chronic ringing in the ears (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinnitus">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinnitus</a>). It can take on many forms from a buzz to a "tea kettle" noise to the sound of your pulse. It can be caused by exposure to loud noises or it can come from health problems.<br />

I randomly woke up with tinnitus one morning when I was 12 years old. I am now 30 and I still have it. I hear my pulse constantly in my right ear, and a weird, high-pitched noise in my left. I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm "hearing impaired" or anything, but this does interfere with my life in a few ways.<br />
<br />
The reason I ask is because it has been linked to thyroid disorders, and my tinnitus began at almost the exact time my hair loss started getting noticeably bad, so I'm wondering if it's the result of some autoimmune or thyroid thing. I've never determined the cause.<br />
<br />
I'm probably the only one here with this issue, but I thought I'd ask! What is your hair loss pattern?tag:alopeciaworld.com,2008-10-20:2022678:Topic:1455022008-10-20T16:56:00.731ZKristen Ridenhourhttps://alopeciaworld.com/profile/Kristen
I had very thick curly hair until I was nine years old. I had ringlet curls all over. Around my 10th birthday, my hair got a lot straighter and it got thinner all over. It had been so thick that I didn't think much of it. Well, it continued to get thinner, but mostly on top, like pattern baldness. By the time I was 12, I looked like a balding man.<br />

It came and went. My hair got progressively worse until I was 15, then at 16-17 it got better. Then suddenly it got worse again. And worse, and worse. Around 19, I started developing strange patterns of loss. At its worst, I had a weird bald "doughnut" on back of my head...a big bald circle with hair growing in the middle. That grew back, but I still have weird bald streaks, and some typical AA spots at the nape of my neck. My hair grows in a strange paisley pattern!<br />
<br />
I couldn't get a doctor to say I had AA because I have such a strange pattern, and it was only recently that my doc said that I have diffuse AA, which is pretty rare, I suppose.<br />

Does anyone else have unusual alopecia? How do you take your thyroid medicine?tag:alopeciaworld.com,2008-10-18:2022678:Topic:1443472008-10-18T18:44:08.023ZKristen Ridenhourhttps://alopeciaworld.com/profile/Kristen
I have been on thyroid meds for about 8 years already. My thyroid Dr told me to take my pill when I wake up in the morning and not to eat or drink for 1 hour. I however can't wait that 1 hour for my cup of coffee so I end up not following the Dr's directions. Does anyone take the pill as we should? Or have been told different directions of taking the thyroid pill?
