Find a rectangular shape scarf with the length of 5'ft and the width of 18" to 24"inches, and the fabric weight of muslin. (I use the different tie-dyed type of neck scarf with tassels or the lightweight cotton scarf types they sale at those mall fashion shops, you can find for about $12.)
Follow my picture steps below:

Depending on how low you want the scarf to hit on your forehead, fold the scarf in half with an amount to cover the back of your head.

Tie your wrap on the side of your head that you want your bun to be placed, tie it tight enough so it will not slide off of your head?but not so tight your eyes bulge but tight enough. (You can loosen it once you have the bun part secured.)

Tie another knot and you will have two pieces hanging.

With the two pieces of fabric you can twist them together and as you are twisting them you will bring the area near the knot up and around the knot to wrap the twist around the knot wrapping the twisted pieces until you get to the end.

While holding the end of the twisted piece, make sure your bun is resting on the knot and tight up against your head.

With the end of the twist you are going to tuck it underneath the bun and the scarf part that is flush against your head.

Variations:

· At the knot, add in another colored scarf, a silk solid or print square-type scarf and twist a bigger bun.
· At the knot, instead of wrapping the twisted pieces into a bun...wrap it around your head and tuck it into the knot, letting the ends hang or tuck the ends underneath.
