Can anyone out there tell me if there are wigs that are actually comfortable and not itchy? I still have hair but the right side of my head has large patches and I don't know if i should use clip in extensions or just do a wig. I'm a little worried of the weight factor when it comes to the extensions. I know it's just a matter of time before most of my hair will be gone. I'm a little confused when it comes to full wigs , lace front? I don't know the difference! lol Any thoughts? Thanks!

Linda, Thank you for asking these questions and for everyone's responses. I have been looking for these same answers. Di

Hello Linda! I happen to be a sucker for wigs, just like I was once a sucker for extensions when I had hair. I will give you a huge bit of advice: avoid clip in extensions at all costs! I had worn 14 inch clip in extensions on and off for about a year. I always rotated them in my head to reduce the stress on my scalp, and never wore them for more than 9+ hours. Athough I took precautions when I could, I started to notice my hair was thinning drastically! Eventually I counted over 10 bald spots, which the doctor had told me the weight of the fake hair was just too much for my scalp. I've also met ladies including myself who have experienced minor headaches while wearing them for a few hours, and it just wasn't worth it anymore.

It honestly takes a couple days to a couple weeks to fully get used too wigs. I use capless wigs because they offer me comfort and most of them are adjustable to my head, also they stay put all day and don't move an inch; even when i'm taking off a shirt or waking outside on a windy day!

At first I thought wigs were itchy and too hot; I would wear it for a few minutes, take it off for a bit, then try to wear it for a longer period of time the next. Finally I could stand to wear it for hours, and now I can sleep in my wig if I choose to do so! Just like extensions, it takes a little patience but sooner or later you'll forget you're even wearing a wig! I also recommend a very comfortable wig cap - make sure it's not too tight, when mine are it causes me little headaches and some discomfort.

Goodluck finding what's best for you, I hope you let us know. Here's a website that will help you weigh out the differences between wig cap options when/if you choose to buy one. :)

Thanks for the advice Tiffany!=) I was using clip in extensions for awhile but got sick of them because of the weight factor. You look awesome in your wigs! I just recently cut my hair really short! (like Halle Berry short) I will be posting more pics soon I just haven't got to it yet. So do you have alopecia? Or did you have a bad experience with clip ins? Anyway PM me if you so choose.

Linda

neither of them...
My advise is: shave your head in order to have an uniformity, look your self at the mirror and say:
"i am wonderful, smart, elegant, charm and sexy person"

a 45 years old alopecian ;-)

I appreciate the advice and I understand what you are getting at but up here in brutal cold northeast United States I'm going to want a wig when I go bald. I still have hair for now ...only time will tell.

Rene of Paris or Revlon are not to itchy, I would wear a wig cap to help. But if you wash the wig and condition it very well, it will stop being itchy.

xx

I absolutely understand your point, i guess it is a matter of culture and social environmental forces. I also understand the differences between a girl and a boy and i furthermore, I recognize how cruel our world it is either you live in the US or elsewhere.

Well, it was not in my intentions to act as wise guy, although i was somehow impulsive in my previous reply. I am 45 years old guy and i have been experiencing alopecia since i was 2 years old ( i was wearing wig from the age of 15 up to the age of 28!!! Therefore, believe me i know exactly what are talking about...

However, my point of view is to make you realize that you have to be real, to be "you" and this will be the greatest achievement of your life. You will go along the way having support from your parents, your "real" friends and from the people who deserve to be your close persons. Man is a moral animal, so you have to deal with it!

Of course i understand that you are going to pass several paths and you will make several cycles...Whatever be your decision don't ever forget that having alopecia is rather a blessing than a disease. It is a reaction of the biggest organ of the human body and for this reason alopecians have the highest level of sensibility. In my language (Greek) the word sensitive composed of the words (ευ+αίσθητος= well+sense)a man of feeling. And you should be proud about that.

I support your decision but keep in mind my words and my philosophical perspective. Take your time and go get them.

ps: i apologize for my mediocre english ;-)

hi,you can order from China, send me message,I will let you know.If you want a wig,it is under 200us$.

The most important questions is will you want to wear your wig in an updo or ponytail? If so you will want to choose a Full lace cap style. There are many different style caps - the most common are the full lace cap with ear to ear stretch, the full lace cap with no stretch, front lace only cap meaning lace in the front only, full lace cap with thin skin in front and lace around entire perimeter of head.

My friend recommend me the brand abhair,i then have a try,the produt is good 100% human hair, you can have a try.
