Wig made with hair you provide?

I have AU and a couple friends offered to donate their hair to me to have a medical wig made. Is there anywhere you can have a good quality medical wig made with hair that you provide? I don't live near any wig shops. Has anyone done this before?

I believe the company Freedom Wigs allows you to do this, though I am not positive. Their stuff looks beautiful, but you need to be completely bald, and it's quite expensive. They might be an option . . .
