Can someone please tell me, especially, black woman, what is being used on your head for such a smooth, glow, and shine look. I recently had my head shaved...about a month now and loving it. You all pictures look so beautiful. My friend ask me why I waited so long cause she knew the fear I had in my hair loss, but God had to do the delivering, not me and He told me when I was ready...My husband loves it, I feel free. Help me to have my head look good too...all smiles.

Hey pj, I don't rock the bald look (not when I'm out in public, not anymore atleast)but any type of oil/sheen will work. Like virgin coconut oil, its great for the scalp!
Try light babyoil.
Thanks, Cindi...have a blessed week.
Rock on sista with your fabulous self! The baldness looks very nice on you.
thanks.
Shea Butter works good too.
Thanks, Luvinmesumme...like that name.
You're welcome and thank you. What do you use to shave your head? I haven't actually shaved my head, but rather cut it near the scalp. I want to shave it so that it can have that smooth feel, but after will get razor bumps if I don't know what I'm doing.
Can you see the reply I wrote to Brian. Try using that. Let me know how you made out. God bless you.
There are two ways I've found to shine a bald head. One is to use a product containing oil. While I've tried this approach, it leaves my head a bit oily to the touch, especially as the day progresses. The shine also has a bit of an oily look. There are several products that offer a shine solution. There's Headblade's Headlube (they have several versions of this moisturizer including shiny and matte finishes). There's also Bald Head Shine (baldheadshine.com) which I have not used. I have used Headlube, but it leaves some oil on the scalp and my scalp is already oily enough. Note that these products are designed for men, but they should work fine on women. I'm just not sure how well it works on dark skin. You might have to experiment there.

So, I also mentioned a second way. Right after shaving, you can exfoliate with a Buff Puff or similar puff pad. They're a bit rough (especially when new), so be gentle when buffing. After your head dries, it should tighten up a bit and become very shiny and smooth without any oil. I've also found that repeating the exfoliation process after it dries once will shine it up nicely. Again, gently exfoliate and then rinse in cold water. After drying, it will again tighten up and get quite shiny without oils. You'll want to pat towel dry (don't rub dry), then let it completely dry on its own without touching. The exfoliation process can be a bit rough on the skin, so you might need to give your skin a break every now and then. Also, some people naturally exfoliate faster than others, so you may not have to exfoliate as often as I need to. If your scalp is oily or gets oily fast, then the oil will help moisturize the scalp as the day goes on. You can refresh the process during the day without exfoliation simply by washing the head and letting it air dry again.

You can't combine the exfoliation shine process with a moisturizer or you'll lose the oiless finish to the moisturizer. You'll have to choose one or the other techniques.
Thanks Brian. I haven't experience any razor bumps. I've been using two ways in shaving my head. One is the triple 3 razor right after having a shower, using Pure Silk moisturing shave cream for women by Barbasol. After shaving I wipe it with a cotton ball of alcohol, then puting tea tree on the head. Another way if I have not just come out of the shower, I use a cream. Softsheen/Carson's Magic Razorless cream shave which is put on the head for 6-9 minutes then wiping it off w/o rubbing hard. Its for men of color. Afterwards, the cotton ball of alcohol and the tea tree oil...sometimes I put just plan vitamin e oil. So far, no problem. I only wish that I would not have to do it as often. Oh well, at least the hair grows in areas...but not in the middle of the head. So it looks much better being completely bald and I will say again...I love it. God bless you.
Ok, PJ. I read your reply to Brian and thanks. I will try it. I do exactly what you do after you shave your head with the Alcohol and tea tree oil. My hair grows too everywhere else except on top. Well, it does but it is very thin there and I prefer the bald look as well. I will keep you posted on the shaving technique. Have a wondeful day.
