I find that, very often, I catch the attention of others. Sometimes it's cool, sometimes it's not, and sometimes I just plain don't care. But a majority of then time it's not cool because the look they're giving me is one of awe, disgust, and curiosity all in one package; and I'm not saying all people do that, some people are extremely considerate about it. They look, ask, compliment, and leave it alone; other people like to gawk at like you're the ninth wonder of the world, and some of them find it quite alright to laugh. That's kind of hurtful...no it is hurtful, and rude. When I was younger and I used to catch people staring at me I wouldn't do anything but put my head down and pray that someone in my family comes by to save me. And when I got to middle school I mean-mugged people back. But now that I'm older and a little more mature in Christ I look at them, hold their gaze (and some of their gazes don't even last that long), give them a little smile and go back to my business. Has anyone else experienced this? What'd you do?

SoJourner last summer we had the Olympic and Paralympic Games here in the UK, I think seeing the paralympians competing with such courage and skills has helped quite a few people in this country to be more understanding of diversity and recognise that we all come in different shapes, sizes and appearances. I recently was on a tube train in London and another passenger got on, a woman with alopecia that was not wearing a wig or any headcovering, nobody took the slightest bit of notice, which is just as it should be.

I have to add, I think you are absoultey beautiful and the facial artwork is really creative and elegant.

Thank you both for being so encouraging and kind.
