My daughter's test results came back and the results were normal in every area except her vitamin B12. It was acutally very high they told me. I am not sure what that means, I thought it would be low if anything! ANyway the rest (thyriod and all ) came back normal.

Hi

Did the doctor explain why her B12 was high and if this is a problem in any way? Good news that everything else is good. :)

NO...It was the pediatrician that told me this, and they are being weird about the whole thing. They even were mad that she had any testing done! I don't understand doctors. Aren't they there to help us? The ped's office said we should tlak to the dermatologist about the results. I was just wondering what everyone one here would have to say (since I get better information here anyway).
Hi,
you mentioned that everything came back to normal so I suppose previous results were worse then the recent one. Checked a bit on vitamin B12 and mostly people mention B12 deficiency regarding autoimmune deseases and thyroid conditions among other things so wild guess would be that she was under some kind of therapy either invloving intake of B12 directly or improving its level indirectly, or she had B12 rich food which resulted in high level of B12. I remember that one dermatologist included B-complex in my AA treatment.
Why not check results with dermatologist?

Djordje
That is good to hear that everything else was normal. Lyndsey was lacking in the B12 vitamin and she was started on a B12 complex as well as Omega 3. We have to see the dermatologist on Dec 30 so now we are in the same boat as you. Good luck!
I myself have tried to find other links to increased b-12. I have alopecia..When I have a high dose of b-12 like a energy drink or take a supplement that has it in it..I notice the very next day that I will start to drop eyelashes and hair. it will stop falling out if I do not have any more.
I am exactly the opposite.. I have low b12!!! So I take b12 vitamins everyday! lol
I was just diagnosed with a high B12 vitamin in my system as well. It was causing hives, itchiness, redness, hotness, etc... I was told to quit my supplement. I had been taking 700% daily value plus what was n my prenatal vitamin. I was low on Vitamin D3 which could contribute to my severe depression and was told to take 4000 units a day. I don't know if either contributes anything to hair growth or loss..
