Hi all

28 year old male in the UK with half a beard half a head of hair and eyebrows lashes starting to disappear.

I have been following the jak trials intently but all seems to go quiet.

Does anyone have any up to date information on when we can expect jak treatment that is approved. Thinking about starting on xeljanz but cannot find anyone in UK to support with bloods.

Thanks have a nice day.

Do they actually need you to do the Bloodwork at the clinic that is running the trial? Maybe they could do the testing closer to you and send the results to the doctors running a trial

It is important to check what the deal is: in the PF trial you get altogether up to three years medication and treatment. I do not believe you get that in the Baricitinib trial. So in PF you get the med until it is likely hitting the market. You will never be without med again in fact.

also I am not sure whether Baricitinib will ever make it to the market for AA. In PF they really want to bring it for AA without any blablabla

So my last derm put me on cyclosporine at what I'm finding is a high dose and didnt do a single blood test. Who knows how much damage to my immune system it did. My new dermatologist told me cyclosporine is terrible to use and that JAK inhibitors are the future. She wants me to go on the baricitinib trial.

She is correct with JAKs. I would ask her why she prefers the Baricintib trial over the trial for PF06651600.

Why continue shaving and doing m/p when you get a medication growing back your hair?

many thanks in advance

Thank you, just pm’d you

Hi

I am based in London, and have suffered with AA and AU for 20 years.  I am interested in taking medication and I'm in two minds about ordering from overseas.  I see there are trials taking place in the UK and wondered if anyone has had success in being accepted, if so, was this by recommendation from your GP or by directly contacting the hospital.  Also, are the trials on hold due to Cov-19?

Thanks
