I am new to the whole synthetic wigs, and I just order mine off Amazon/Ebay, whichever I find one with wigs I want to try out, but I have up until recently always worn human hair ones from Locks of Love, but I am curious as to how I should be caring for my synthetic wigs because I would like to make them last long because once I love one, I can't stop wearing it. As of right now, I just wear my wig in the shower with me and use Envy shampoo and also use a refresh and renewal spray before and after (I don't think it works well with the wigs, but again, I don't know much about synthetic wigs). I'd really just like more information from other people who wear wigs as well rather than internet search it. Thank you :)

Synthetic wigs don't require any special care other than washing in cool water and not brushing until fully dry. Also don't wear them when using the oven. They WILL melt easily.

Basically, you are dealing wth polyester hair. You can buy shampoo especially for them, but they will do just as well if washed with Woolite. I have even used fabric detergent and they came out fine. Just wash, rinse, blot in a towel, and hang to dry. Very easy to style as long as you don't wash in hot water and don't comb or brush out until the fabrics are completely dry.
Like i said i normally have been washing mine on my head while showering and im using hot water at the time. Does that damage the wig by chance? Cuz right now im trying to figure out whats the best way to wash mine cuz it rats really easily and the detangling spray just doesnt work well and i order some wash from sallybeauty so when i get that in ill try it and see if it makes a difference. If not im maybe thinking of ordering a new one just so i have an extra one cuz i absolutely am in love with this blue one i recently got. Id hate to not be able to wear it :(

I've heard that hot water causes static to build up, which in turn causes tangles. You could try dry shampoo, I'm going to order some online and see if it does better than wet shampoo.

Synthetic wigs only last a few months.  If you get a synthetic that is ABOVE the shoulders, it should last a little more than 6 months.  But anything below the shoulders, synthetic even one that costs $200+ will only last a few months if you're lucky.  Join WigSupport.com....those ladies know what they're talking about.  It's a great place to learn about wigs especially synthetic.  No matter how good you are to a synthetic wig, it only lasts months, NOT years.

I'm gonna try that site out as well, even though there is a local lady who knows all about wigs, I always hate bothering her when shes with people and customers. Plus I just ordered another wig that is human hair blend and i have no idea what to expect of this one compared to a synthetic one.
