I have dealt with AU now for a year and it was devastation for me! Does this ever go away or once you have it you have it for life? I can't take the xeljanz right now b/c my cholesterol is high b/c my dr. took me off statin drugs last year thinking that the statin drug was causing hair loss. So it will be at least 3 months before I can start xeljanz medicine...so sad !!

AA is for the duration of your life.  You may have periods of remission and hair regrowth or you may not.  It treats everyone differently - with no set pattern.

I hope you have read the discussions on Xeljanz that are available on this site.

The crux is that yes, in a lot of cases hair will regrow while taking Xeljanz.  The downside is that if you stop taking the drug you will re-lose your hair, generally in about six months.  So, it is something for the rest of your life also - or at least until something more hopeful comes along.  Other things to consider is the cost unless you're in a study or have good insurance, and the side effects.

Thank You for your reply! I will read about Xeljanz!
