Hi All,

Recently have taken to shaving my head - comptelely bare with a razor. I've noticed that the bald patched form my AA are ever so slightly 'sunk' in comparison to the rest of the head. I can feel a very slight ridge at the edge of the patches.

This is not visualy noticable, and I can't feel it uness my head is shaved (the rest of my hair would be in the way).

Just wondering if anyone one elce has experianced this and may even know the reason for it? I'm guessing this may be because there is obviously no hair shaft under the scin in these patches? But I really have no idea...

This diference really is so very slight - I'd never have noticed it if I have not taken to shaving my head completely bald.

Like Aimee I''m wondering if you have had any steroid shots? Steroids can cause the scalp to atrophy and make little "dells" - if that is what it is - give it about 6 months and those sunken in areas will come back. (assuming you no longer do injections in those areas) I've had those too!
Thanks guys.I've not had any shots - although I have been using steriod cream. I've heard about 'dents' as a side effect of shots but not of the cream - although its more than possible. I'll mention it to the derm at my next visit and see what she says...
