After Lauras 'Does anyone smke' discussion I noticed there are a lot of varied opinons out there which is fantastic and it seems everyone is respectiful of each others decision to smoke or not to smoke. I thought i'd go one further and ask if anyone smokes weed or has in the past? I only ask because before I became a mumma I partied a lot and smoked almost on a weekly basis. Now I'm not condoning the use of drugs in ANY WAY but from a medicinal perspective my hair aways grew after a week or so of smoking a lot. I don't know if they've done ny studies on this or if anyone has experienced similar bt i'd like to know what you think.

I knew a woman who was the founder and president of a pretty well known auto-immune disease foundation and I walked into her office one night to find her hanging out the window smoking a joint. It cracked me up because she's the "straightest" looking woman in the world -- and also one of the smartest women I've ever met. She went on (and on LOL) about how marijuana suppresses the immune system and it was a good "treatment" for an over active immune system and her autoimmune disease (not AA). I don't know how true that is or if she was just an old pot head making a rationalization. But since alopecia is an autoimmune disease... hmmmmm
J-A <------- smoked weed for many years, finally quit and now only a toke or two if I'm totally bored and want to watch a stupid movie or do a crossword puzzle. I don't really care for the high from the stuff that's around these days. Too much for me! (Ironically, I developed glaucoma many years after I stopped smoking pot and asked my eye doctor if I should resume, for medicinal purposes of course. He felt the prescription eye drops would be a better course of treatment and said that weed lowering eye pressure was pretty much a myth :-)
Hmmm... interesting....
But here's a different hypothesis.... maybe you were/are smoking so much dope you're really just hallucinating that your hair's come back thicker/stronger? ....discuss! (but only if you think you can string a coherent sentence together, natch.) ;)
That's surprising - I thought weed put you in a laid-back mood and and made you laugh easier? Maybe you've not had a J today! :)

But actually, Laura, my answer to your question is "Yes" - because there's enough grief and sadness in the world as it is. So a little light-hearted banter and humour is a Good Thing... go on, take it in the spirit it was given, gizza smile!!! I dare you!
Norm was just making a joke. It is funny because, as I'm sure he and most others are aware, that marijuana is only a very mild hallucinogen. I've NEVER encountered either personally or anecdotally anyone who hallucinated from marijuana. If you have, it is likely that person's received some marijuana that was laced with some additional substance. This is one of the main problems with prohibition, you never know what you're getting.

Anyhoo, if a person doesn't hallucinate over a shot of alcohol, they aren't going to hallucinate from a joint, much less, a couple of hits.
Really Norm? The thing with written jokes is it is hard for the readers to know the tone of what your saying. I don't appreciate your comment, please don't add to the discussion unless you have something helpful or related to say.
Girls, girls, girls. Lighten up.... smoke a J or something!

Look, you can't post stuff on a forum that's visible for all the world to see and comment on, and then act all hurt and do the foot-stamping bit because you don't like what someone else has brought to the party (I know, I know... you were expecting weed, and I brought some funnies instead). That's called "acting spoiled".
However, if you want me to add "something helpful or related", I'd say it's not too clever to start discussing whatever illegal activities you currently or formerly used to get up to here on AW, where kids get to view your postings too. If I thought like you do, I'd say you were the ones being unhelpful.... how many younger readers might now go and try a few joints, "just to see if it'll help"? - or maybe you didn't think that far ahead..... or even worse, don't care?

Look, I don't care who does what. Alcohol, tobacco, weed, acid, whatever.... we all have to try and get by in life, and some peeps like to relax using legal or illegal drugs of whatever sort. Others do it by laughing at life's absurdities, so rather than try and tell me what I can and can't say, just accept that whatever you say in public can, and probably will, have a little fun poked at it.

By the way, Danielle.... I agree, it can be hard for people to understand the tone of the written word. That's why I'm very precise with what I write, and add those smiley thingies just to make sure no-one's in any doubt that it's in jest.

Now come on, let's all be pals again. Big Hugs all round, yeah? Or do I have to spend the rest of my life looking over my shoulder? :)
Norm, you crack me up!
Hey, Angie, just hang on a mo'.... I thought this was supposed to be about weed, and now you're talking about crack??? :)

(Note the smiley.... it's a joke!!!)
I actually think I noticed some hair regrowth from smoking weed, and hair loss from stopping; but I'm so busy working right now that I really don't have time to sit around baked.
This is actually an interesting topic to myself as well..I do not judge people or what they do and never would that is just the kind of person I am, but I have never done any recreational drugs including MJ because of the lack interest, but I do have something crazy to add though, one day I decided while one of my friends was smoking I would try it, "I said what the heck let me try it out" crazy enough I did not enjoy it, but took a couple more drags after the first, don't exactly know why, but did..Anyway, moral of the story is that I noticed about 4 weeks later I had a bald patch, but there were other things that were going on in my life, so to be able to pinpoint whether it was one thing or not is pretty much like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but nonetheless interesting..
Maybe it has something to do with chemicals in the body causing an on and off switch with the immune system!!! Just a thought lol!!
Hi Danielle:

Yes, I have partaken in the past.
No, I do not now because I live in Texas.

I am a proponent of full legalization for ADULTS to use as they see fit.
