Hey everyone hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a happy new year!!

I have had alopecia areata since feb last year and hadn't had any regrowth on my most recent spots for months so I went back to my dermatologist and he gave me some steroid ointment which is called elcon scalp lotion (mometasone furoate) 0.1%. I was advised to use once a day for 4 weeks and then stop and today was my last day of using it which I am extremely sad about because in 4 weeks the regrowth I have had is absolutely amazing I would advise any body to try this because for me it has helped me so much not just with regrowth but with confidence I have felt alot better about myself and also found it so much easier to cove patches again. For one I'm actually looking in the mirror at my patches and smiling which I never thought would happen!!! I just wanted to put this on here so that maybe some of you could try it and it may help you in the way it has helped me. Fingers crossed the regrowth carries on without it!

I've never heard of this treatment and so glad it's working for you!

That is so good! im glad to hear, i use the steriode injections. those are when my doctor gives me about 10 - 15 shots in my head per appoinment, they work wonders for me. you could ask about this treatment. the regrowth in=s amazing. what the shots do is stop the symtons of alopecia so your hair can regrow! its awesome and the shots barley hurt! im 14 and i have been doing it for a few years now, its great.
