I've got a question about AA..
I've got big bald spots on my head, which is obviously AA. But I have little bald spots on my arms and legs too, is that just the same as AA, or is it a sign that it's becoming worse and that I might even get alopecia totalis? The bald spots on my head are becoming bigger and bigger.
Please let me know if anyone knows anything about this!

Yes I thought so too, that it's getting worse. But I wont let that happen! And if I do lose all of my hair I keep living the life I live. Just got my wig so that covers it :)
I couldnt agree more with Aimee, it sounds like the condition is progressing worse...to alopecia universalis (AU) but remember there are also many with spontaneous recovery after a terrible episode of alopecia for several months.

So keep your chin up and enjoy life, unfortunately there is little control over how alopecia areata will progress but in the mean time do not let it distract you from living your life to the fullest.

Take care. God bless

This is the thing with Alopecia. It's unpredictable what will happen.
Hang in there!

Yes that is true :\
Hi, My daughter went from small patches to alopecia universalis in over a year and a half. No body hair what so ever. BUT!!!!! It is all coming back slowly but surley. We are keeping our fingers crossed that it will stay. She has stopped taking lexapro and yasmin but we do not know if they contributed to the hair loss.
She has undergone many shots, metatrexate and prednisone. She also uses some topical cremes. Who knows if any of it works but we thought by having universalis for so long that it would never come back. Keep your faith up and spirits high and find a good doctor who is willing to work with you on treatments.
