Hi guys, I have been on 10mg a day for 8 months and basically no response besides some eyebrow regrowth mostly on the top of eyelid and some eyebrow fuzz, not much else. 23 year old male in good shape with AU for past yearish.

Me and my derm are bumping up to 20 mg a day for 4-6 months to see if I am a non responder or a very late responder that has a high amount of JAKs in the body.

My derm says if I respond well then we will lower back to 10-15mg or go to a phase 3 trial for a medication just for Alopecia (its just inhibits 1 JAK instead of 2) if they accept me. If I don't respond, I may have to go to a phase 4 trial if possible for that medication.

hey man i just started taking tofacinix from beacon since 3 weeks. i haven't yet seen any progress but the curiosity is killing me. i Hope you respond in your new approach to Alopecia. I hope someday we all can have a laugh about this journey . There are a lot of people here who have experience in this case and don't stress . Help will come. I am new to all this but just hang in there brother, Together we stand strong.

8 months should have been enough time to have had substantial regrowth.  Your subjecting your body to that, and now possibly more with no result....and if you go up to 20mg, it won't be sustainable without side effects... at least for some people.

Have you considered Baricitinib?  If I were you, I'd try changing it up.  You did have some (eyebrow)  spontaneous regrowth, so maybe a tweak in the Jak is what you need.  I'd consider low dose (2mg) Bari before jumping up to long term 20mg Xeljanz that hasn't even worked for you.

Not for now

There will be medications in phase 4 for Alopecia specifically next year it looks like, so that would be next step

What medicine are we talking about? Also what’s the difference between tofacinib and baricitinib?
