Hello Everyone,

I have just discovered 6 weeks ago that I have Alopecia Areata.

Basically my hair is failling for almost 3 months. I was wondering if Alopecia Areata has an active fase (where the hair fall down) and the stops the falling.

At the moment I am not as much worried about the hait gorwing up (same of the patches already have hair growing up) as I am about the hair still falling down.

I am doing minoxidil, injections and topic cortisone.

It is being hard to accept this condition, but fortunatelly I have a lot of support from my familly and my partner.

Thank you

Hi, there are phases but there are not following any pre-defined pattern. It seems that stress is one of the factors. For me it seems there is always a delay effect of 1 month from a stressful period to actually losing hair. It used to be few patches for 19 years and then out of the blue almost become totally bald everywhere.

There are tons though that we don't know yet. Check the https://www.alopeciaworld.com/forum/topics/xeljanz-tofacitnib-citra...

It's the most active place to get opinions from others.

Thank you

Hair has growing & resting phases - if that is what you are referring to.

Have you tried the natural and holistic route? I only suggest this route, because it has given me results. After two years of trial and error- I have my hair and health!  (Thank the Lord and the Heavens) and am now on a mission to help others too. I have posted on my IG account, (same name) with so many articles about people doing treatments, meds, and all with no results or horrible side effects that have led to other illness and issues. I wrote a book and researched so much and am please to share that my client also see results. Try going holistic. It will take time, but your body will heal from the inside out. Don’t ever expect overnight success. No pill will give you that, bu rest assured, mother nature and natural healing has no negative side effects. Wishing you all the best. www.alopeciaangel.com for more info, pictures, testimonials, my story with pics and much more!

I will suggest you to try natural treatment, lifestyle change, diet, exercise. I have written in my blog what I have done to regrown my hairs after 3 years of suffering from Alopecia Areata with more than 15 patches.
