I have been asked to apply for a great position that has opened. It is very high profile job, basically being in upper management. I'm so worried about having to wear a wig to the interview and if I get the job, having to wear it daily. I can't just wear a scarf or hat to work. I wish I didn't have to do this with a wig. I'm half tempted not to apply just because I wear hair. How stupid am I?

You can find a remote job if it's such a problem for you. I can recommend checking out this company https://www.instaforex.com/reviews_forex_traders that specializes in cryptocurrency trading. You can work from home or any other spot, and I think it's a great option for you.

I have been hired 3 times when people know my background. The wig has never held me back. In fact, my current employer googled me before hiring. My story comes up on the internet because I have a side business for hair loss consulting. I told them on my first day of work and they said they already knew because of google. Also, I shared my story on classmates and facebook and have not been private about it.

Funny, I too worked at a cancer center as one of my jobs. Part of my job was helping women in the donation wig room! That is what gave me the knowledge and encouragement to start the small hair business (on the side) in my home! But my main employment is accounting work.

You're not stupid, just scared and wanting to be accepted. I'm new here, but I lost my hair when I was ten and I'm 53 now. I've always worn a wig, so I guess I'm used to it and have all kinds of ways that (I ***think***) I've hidden it. (wearing wigs with bangs, I had a hair system I wore for about twenty years until I had to make other financial choices recently, etc.) I see that this was over two years ago, so I'm hoping that you applied and got the position! (((HUGS)))

I know this is an old thread but I am hoping I can find out some information.  My agency assists adults with disabilities find employment, housing, independent living skills, and other  various supports to make individuals more independent. We have a new customer who has recently become disabled.  She is in her 20's and has Apolecia.   We are trying to get her ready to interview for jobs but she is extremely self conscious about her hair and her disability.  We can help with the disability factor but I am looking of a local organization (St. Louis) that may be able to help her get a wig or something to interview in.   Any information would be helpful.  Due to her accident she isn't financially able to buy something on her own.  Thanks for any information you can share!
