I developed AU about 5 yrs ago.  Went from one spot to total AU in about 7 weeks.  During the initial diagnosis, I search the internet for anything to stop the progress and to find doctors that understand the disease. I came across alopecia world which is such a great location for support and information about our disorder. That's how I found a doctor that could treat me.  Lots of suggestions and rare stories of successful recovery by diet/lifestyle changes before the biologics were discovered.  Like many I've been trying to get into a study and fail because one white blood count is on the low side of normal.  I was surfing the internet again for a clinical studies and I ended up on the Hair Up website again.  I had looked at it 5 yrs again, but came to this website with the more experienced people, had read the 'snake oil' comments and decided not to spend the money.  Total mistake for me and wish I could do a do over.  4 months ago at 2am I decided to give it a try.  Best decision for me.  Dr Gonen was very clear that it doesn't work for everyone and success at my age (56) was very low.  His product has better success for minors.

I had some vellus hair regrowth after I increased my vitamin D supplement about 2 yrs ago, but my hair was stuck at that phase. After 2 months using Hair Up, I started getting terminal hairs.  To the naysayers who will say this was spontaneous, you're wrong.  Direct correlation where I apply the product and growth.  I have no hair any other location than where I am using the product.

Will it ever grow/fill in so that I can go without a wig?  Not sure, but there are NO side effects and once you factor in costs of Dr appts, blood work and medications it's not that much more expensive. This will not be a quick fix like the biologics I had been wanting, but definitely safer.  I am posting because I am still kicking myself that I didn't try when I was first diagnosed. I truly believe it would have stopped the progression for me and the only reason I didn't at the time was because there were mostly negative posts on this website about the product.   Has anyone else had success?
