Who knows of a good eyeliner that won't wear off? Everything I've tried wears off after a few hours, because there's no eyelashes for it to attach to or stick close to. It's just smooth skin that's kind of wet from being so close to eyeball lol. I've tried waterproof, and all sorts of kinds. I'm worried about summer when it's hot and sweaty and even worse than now. Also for things like swimming and stuff. I just look so..weird with absolutely nothing on my face. Like it's very plain because I'm so pale, and then I don't have eyelashes or brows. Brows I don't really care about, but I want something at least on my eyes. I've tried liquid, but even that starts to wear away closer to my water line. It's so annoying! Which brand, type, etc do you reccomend?

I use PUR (graphite coffee or something- a black/brown color) and a eyeliner brush from Sephora. I put eyeshadow on then the eyeliner. It dries quickly and is a good base for eyelashes. It does not wear off, unless my eyes tear all day (sometimes a victim of eyelash glue) in which case it will eventually wear off in the tearing corner. But its very good. I got it at Ulta. I got that brand specfically b/c I didnt want black or brown, I wanted a combo.

I also have pixie in black. Its ok as well, but the black is a little dramatic for everyday.
Bobbi Brown gel liner. Love it. I use black, brown or dark blue depending on the day on top and bottom.
Dries fast like mascara..I suspect the formula is almost identical to mascara. Which also means you need to keep it covered tightly all the time to keep it from drying out. Makes a nice base for fake lashes, too.

I just purchased Bobbi Brown's Long-wear eyeliner that Thea recommended and love it! I have been wearing MAC's eyeliner pencil for years but, it does not stay on my lower and upper lids very long as the day goes by. I have oily skin and no eyelashes so I assume that is another reason why the eyeliner pencil I have been wearing does not last long. Just like Thea recommended you don't have to purchase the eyeliner brush that Bobbi Brown uses and any other eyeliner brush will do just fine. I got a eyeliner brush from Sephora and it is super easy to apply. I just woke up from a nap and the eyeliner stayed put and didn't smear or wear off! What a great product to use and have for Alopecians like me who are afraid to commit and the fear of pain to get my eyeliner tattooed! I just found my Shu Uemura eyelash culer but, I don't need it anymore cause one year my upper eyelashes grew and I got excited about having eyelashes again and I got a eyelash curler and some masscara. Then some months later the eyelashes fell out. But, now fake eyelashes are my beauty secret to use and I wear them only on special ocassions! I'm glad Sephora has a great return policy and I can return the eyelash curler and exchange it for something else in the store or get a store credit and I had purchased it over a year ago!
Cool. Glad you like it, too. I love it in black, brown and the indigo which is a deep blue.

Technique tip: because it dries so fast and is so durable, there will be some still clinging to your brush. If you leave it on the brush, it will harden. Bringing that hardened brush toward your eye the next time....mmmm....not such a good idea.Think dagger. So, the quick and easy way to make sure that doesn't happen is to have a tissue handy. As soon as you finish applying, wipe all excess off the brush. Weekly, give it a gentle wash in warm soapy water. Also, keep the gel container closed tightly at all times or it will become dry.

I have a tiny bristled artist's brush with a silicone gripper section (one of the British art brush brands) and long length for balance. The gripper area gives a little added control.

In New York state we have a consumer protection law regarding cosmetics because so many people get reactions to various ingredients. Full refund, no questions asked.

I wear plum or deep purple-and that color never goes on as smoothly, in any brand, as black or brown does, so a real challenge.

Liquid is way to severe for my very fair skin. The pots of gel liner are great but I gave up on the Mac gel pots of eyeliner-they dry up so soon, and are costly. So I mostly use Clinique pencil-it works well in the plum color for about 4 months, then it suddenly deteriorates and starts skipping-but the first 4 months are fine.

But for times when I need waterproof I use something suggested on another forum-Aqua Eyes by Make Up For Ever-(at Sephora usually) -it is waterproof and a bit harder to get on-you have to all conditions perfect to get it on well-but it sure is water and tears proof- good for weddings and funerals!
I had a similar experience and found there's an extra step I can do with gel liner to get it to last. Any gel liner will dry out if the cap is not put back on immediately after you get some on your brush. Then open it again for the next eye. It takes an extra moment to screw the cap back on tightly, but that's how I get my gel liner to stay viable till the bottom of the pot. You can take some out onto the back of your hand and 'mix" it a little before applying..that might work to smooth out the other colors.
