I would love the hear from my AW friends. I have no hair to speak of, so it would be easy to shave it off. Do I go lace or vacuum? I am VERY active and I need to get my life back. I've been hiding in the house and under hats for 2 months now. Please give any feed back, or advise.....I am needing to get back on track and get my life back!

I would love to see a picture of the inside of the Gripper cap. Anyone have one that might post a picture?
Hi Lisa,

If you could send me your email address I will check to see if I can send you the inside of the Gripper.

I have had AA for about 22 years and am almost completely bald now and am looking for a different style wing then the one I currently wear- Its about $400 and only lasts about 3-4 months :(

Thanks!!
OMG, I went and met Carmen West today to see, feel and try on the Gripper. I have been down in the dumps for months becuase of this dang AA. I can honestly tell you, Carmen is awesome, she made me feel so much better about this whole experience. She has seen every kind of hair loss since 1965ish, and it was no suprise for her when I took my hat off. It was the first time EVER that I was able to talk to someone without crying (even though my eyes tried to well up) I did not cry. I will be ordering the Gripper, and I can't wait. Thanks to Carmen for an experience that will change my life (or at least, let me live the way I did, when I had my own hair) Also, thanks to all of my AW friends that helped me with advise and answering questions, it really helped me make a decission. I know that I will get a gripper, not sure yet on the vaccuum, maybe later when ALL my hair is gone. That way I will have 2 wigs to alternate, when one is in for repairs? That might be the answer for me, but for now, I will work on getting the Gripper.
Great news, Kimberly! I was just thinking about how having a wig that she likes has made such a huge difference in my daughters' life. Just yesterday she brought one of her wigs out on a form to show me how she had gotten it to curl without using any heat (it involves tying it up with a sock while wet - I don't know, but it worked) and she was just matter-of-fact, "look, I got my hair to curl without using any heat." As I said before, she doesn't have a Gripper, but she has something very similar. I think it is both lace and monofilament with about a 1-inch band of non-skid material around the whole thing. I hope you are very, very happy with your choice.
Hello Dominque,

The Gripper does have lace at the front hairline. The piece is designed to have up to 3 years of life with good care. I The Good thing about the Gripper is that it can be repaired. Now this does take about 4 weeks. The more I work with the Gripper the better I like this piece. I am on a trip now and have sold 5 Grippers and 2 vacuum pieces. I have met and cut and styled some Grippers on this trip. My clients seam to love the cool piece with security.

I also have a remi-European hair, Lace Light hair piece that my women of color like. The Lacey Light comes in 2 lengths, 9 inch and 14 inch. You do need to have a plaster mold made for this piece.

Carmen, Can you get me some information on the gripper..if it is appropriate for me...I do have hair..FBP...diffuse thinning all over, and the nape is totally gone...I know the vacuum is not for me, but I keep trying to find something that is totally natural looking, and flat to my head, as my hair has always been baby fine, straight silky kind of hair...now, the texture has also changed, and it kinks up on the bottom part..and coarser than ever before. Also, cost of gripper, again, if it is an option for me.
