Just what does a dermatologist do if you don't want cortisone or other medications?

Diagnosed early December 2014 and I finally have my first Dermatologist appointment today.

I'm not interested in medications or injections, so I'm interested to hear what advice he will have for me.

Hopefully he will ease my stress over the white spots appearing on my arms and legs. Google says its Vitiligo.

Does anyone know if they do any blood tests etc? My GP ones showed inflammation but not much else.... Be interested in vitamin levels etc, but that's an immunologist right?
