The doctors and dermatologist say that alopecia is stress related? Is this true? How can a child under 5 years old be so stressed out? Can anyone tell me where alopecia comes from...the water we drink, the air we breathe, is it the food we eat? I want answers! They say it's hereditary. I have no one in my family with alopecia! No one! All of a sudden at the age of 45 without warning! Bomb...there it is! Are we all subjects of some kind like the ladies and men who were sterilized by the doctors in North Carolina and they didn't even know it? I just want some answers people!

I think the alopecia-related genes were found to be the same group as rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes and some other conditions. Asthma runs in alopecia families as well. We have it waiting within us, and no one yet knows the trigger, but many think stress, chemicals, immunizations, foods or environmental changes may start the hair loss THAT IS ALREADY DORMANT. Go see the latest research on www.naaf.org and here on Discussions and Publications.

Agreed.... I like the mutated gene theory. If this were related to stress, I would have been dead a long time ago, since this all started for me over 40 years ago.
