Hi My name is gabriela and I am new to the world of alopecia; A vaccine likely triggered my alopecia and within 2 weeks I have lost most of my hair on my head; the eyebrows are now going as are the lashes; I was wondering whether somebody can help me with what to watch for, what works best etc. I would really appreciate it. I live in ottawa, canada and am a 54 year old woman; thanks so much

Madam Madeline is a website that I use to buy eyelashes for my daughter. Number 109 Ardell lashes are the natural I have found. If you tell them you have Alopecia they give you an additional 15percent off your order. These sell for over $5 at target store and are less then$2.50 on this website. For eyebrows go to Mac makeup at department store and ask them to work with you on how to draw on natural looking brows. They are very helpful. There are stencils also that make this easier and more consistent. If you need guidance on wigs I am here for you too. I have made mistakes that cost time and money and if I can help with that I would be glad to advise. Lisa

Gabriela,

It was late last night when I was writing to you about lashes and brows. I wanted to share with you that I would be happy to guide you in finding the best, most comfortable and natural looking wig. If you read my post regarding trip to china to find the best factory to construct custom wigs for my daughter with AU. My direct email is georged5050@gmail.com

Let me know if I may be of assistance to you. All my best Lisa

I followed your post hoping to find new tips myself but there haven't been many comments so I'll share what I do!! I was suggested by many people to use Anastasia brow dip. I love that product, I also use a cheap brow powder to basically outline and to finish with but it is the brow dip that I can't live without. I'm a pretty athletic person and am always surprised by how much I do and still have eyebrows afterwards; swimming, running,I even completed the tough mudder (10mi obstacle course) and still no wearing off at all. As for wigs, I just bought my second one after being diagnosed about a year and a half ago (alopecia universalis) but I don't wear them much. I've been to two separate wig stores and both were pleasant experiences. I think I've worn my wig a total of 5 times in the past year... They're just not for me, but they are both synthetic and have lace tops, I believe that they look very real. Finally, eyelashes, I used to have very full and long eyelashes so I never (previously) experimented much with mascara or fake lashes, I attempted to when I lost mine but I'm just not a very patient person. I do always wear eyeliner. I'm always trying new brands because nothing seems to stay on for the length I'd like it to. Currently my favorite is the loreal gel. It works the best for me and so far nothing lasts as long.
