A study concluded hair loss occurred in people over 60 who are taking Humira along with Tramadol. Humira can also cause Lymphoma (cancer). The Tramadol did not cause hair loss. And, I bet they were talking about hair loss as in thinning like after a general anesthetic or from thyroid, not patchiness like AA.

My feeling is that if we have a genetic or predisposition to AA, then it well could happen. Nothing definitive to say when or if it will happen, or what will trigger it.
Why do babies get AA and others are in their 60s when it appears. If you read these discussions, then the conclusion is that every story of AA is as individual as the people who get it.

I took Tramadol for years, generally every 4-6 hrs. Then all of a sudden one night I had an allergic reaction to it. Why? I had a single episode of AA about 5-6 yrs before I started on Tramadol. Took Tramadol for 3 yrs. Got AU 8 yrs after stopping it. Not exactly a tight timeline for me, but others may have a different story for Tramadol & AA.
I’m sorry but what is AU?
