I have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) which causes hirsutism (unwanted male-pattern hair growth on a woman's face, chest, and back). I also have alopecia areata! It's very frustrating to me that I have hair where I don't want it, and no hair where I do :(

Hope you're seeing a good gyno to get your PCOS under control. The hirsutism can be helped with laser hair removal; there was a show on The Doctors this week about it you might want to check out.
Yes my doc has me on Metformin, Spironolactone, and I use Mirena (progesterone IUD) to keep my insides healthy. I've been toying with laser removal or electrolysis! I've heard good and bad things about both, but I can't really afford either right now.
