HC017AA - drug for pediatric alopecia areata granted Orphan Drug status

hello,

I came across this in a different alopecia forum. I don't know much about the drug, but it sounds relevant to my interests so I thought I'd post the information up here

Orphan Drug status is one of a number of different FDA programs used to help speed testing and development of drugs that treat diseases that don't currently have viable treatment

Hi Chris i reached out to them and they said my child was too young. Only 7 and older.

even age 7 is aggressively young compared to the age requirements on a lot of other drugs used to treat alopecia.

Did you inquire about participating in a trial?

yes they told me to contact them in a few years.  HC017AA, which is in the injection granted ODD status for the FDA is currently in pre-clinical trial. THEIR focus is pediatrics. they are very optimistic

a bit more information I came across. not much more though :)

It seems strange how little information this company is putting out.

Has anyone heard of anything actually happening with this drug?
