Hi I'm a 21 year old male who has suffered with male pattern baldness since the age of about 17. It has caused me great anxiety. Therefore last month I decided to buy my first hair system. However I am worried that the density of the system is too dense, thick and unnatural.

Also the colour is two shades darker than my natural colour. I'm a very dark mousy blonde but my system is like a medium brown..

I would really appreciate your opinions and advice on this!

Your right it doesn't look good.  You aren't not that bald, if any.

I like the look of your hairpiece; very metro male and stylish for these times. You should wear it proudly.

It does appear that your facial hair has some red in it, so since the two hardly ever match you're good on that plain. You've got some color to your skin (face), so the darker hair looks fine.

I will point out that if you really feel the system is too dark and the hair is human, you can have it streaked to give some blond or gold highlights or have the whole thing lightened. That's a no go if its synthetic. Just a thought.
Hi Hagster,

Thanks for your advice and input. It is natural human hair.

I had recently been abroad in Poland and Spain, therefore my face had tanned a little.

I was just concerned that it is too thick and maybe I should ask to have the density reduced.

Hello Sean, I think it looks very natural - but I'm not you / knew what your natural color is, etc.

I did studied cosmetology and did hair for while. Ironically before had alocepia...I'd suggest seeing if you could get just a little bit of hilites/lighten few pieces. Maybe have a colorist do test strip very gentle, as most hair is already very processed with pieces and I know spendy. Thinning hair can be tricky too, but if have stylist that you trust have them just do little. You can always do more later, rather put back. :) Plus probably will thin after time with use. Best with!

PS I would consult with the folks you bought this from, as is large investment. And they should know what to do to help customize to closer to what you want.

Thanks for the advice Lea!!

I have since contacted the company and they are currently lightening the colour of the system and reducing the density (by 10% I believe).

I will try and post some pictures in a few weeks time once I get my system back!

Sean

Cool sounds good Sean, thanks. Appreciate if you keep us posted, may I ask how you like the system comfort wise?

hows it going? hope well! cheers

Hello Lea,
My system comes back next week.

Hello Sean, cool - I wonder if the place you buy the system on let's you try on with them when you get back. In like a Barber/Salon setting and they see how it suits you? If they offer thinning onsite or referrals with their systems too?

Hi Ya stunning unit, I would suggest getting it thinned out a bit in the front wh thinning shears, see a professional barber that has experience in doing units, go the first round lightly and see what the end result would be.

Hey thanks for your response! Do you know how I would find a professional who has this experience?

Thanks,
Sean
