Hi Everyone

I am new to this website and wondered if anyone can help.

I have been suffering with AT for the past 4 years and have been wearing freedom pieces. I sent one of my freedom pieces in over 6 months ago to be repaired and have been informed that mine is in the next batch to be repaired. I have also been told that owing to the extensive damage it may"die during the repair process"!

I only worn the freedom piece for 12 months and yes there was a bald spot at the front and hair loss at the back but that is why I opted for the freedom piece so that it could be repaired.

Just wondered if anyone else has had a freedom piece that couldn't be repaired.

Many thanks

Hi Bonnie,

I have a freedom piece.  I've had it since mid December.  So far so good.  BUT I don't wear it much because I don't like the way it was styled, and it isn't really age appropriate.  It is beautiful, but the wearer isn't.  LOL

Have you called the company direct? If not I, may have a number.  What you are receiving as a response is BS.  I've heard that line before.  It took me 6 months to get my wig. Who is your consultant.  Here is my e-mail, barrspamea@yahoo.com send me a friend request and I can PM you.

Hi Pam

Have sent you an email. I also could not wear my freedom piece owing to the awful hair styling. Felt like a granny! £2500 down the toilet!!

I have sent you a message to your email x

Hi Bonnie,

I am a representative here in Canada for Freedom.  Sorry to hear about the issues surrounding your hairpiece. It is out of the norm to have this much hairloss after 12 months and to have your repair gone so long.   I think a chat with your Independent Agent should help answer all of your questions surrounding the time around your repair and why it is losing hair.

Premature hair loss in a Freedom Wig can be solved by often addressing and making the wearer aware of certain actions they may be doing to cause the hair loss.  For example, sleeping in the wig, brushing incorrectly, incorrect placement on the head causing the wearer to have her hands in her hair...all of this can be identified with your agent.  This is not meant to blame but rather correct actions so that you get much longer wear time in your hairpiece.

Hair loss just past the 12 month mark is rare and really requires discussion with your Agent to figure out why it is happening.  Often it can be resolved.

For repair time, usually Freedom books an appointment for your repair so that you are not out your wig for a long period of time, so this situation can be avoided.  Talk with your agent who is likely more than happy to address your concerns.

The "death on the table" message can happen if there is excessive damage to the wig.  A repair is truly more of a restoration process and entails quite intricate work to get your hair looking like new.  It is like open surgery.

Hope that helps a bit.  I tend to find that going to the source directly will answer your questions more readily.

Cheers,

Jenn

Hi Jen

Thank you so much for your reply. I take great care of my freedom piece and am aware of all the things that can lead to chemical breakdown and avoid all of them as much as possible. I live in a very hot climate which requires me to go swimming with my daughter for 6 months of the year. That is why I was so desparate to get my old one back so that I can keep the one that I have been wearing since September as my best one. If the repair can not happen on the old one I really don't know what I will do as I have nothing at all as a back up. I have recently moved from the UK to France and there are no reps here and therefore it is really difficult for me to get back to the UK for a new mould etc. Unfortunately I had a poor experience with my first rep and am now with another person so I would have to start the whole process off again and that would mean waiting another 6 months.

To be honest I am so upset at the moment and feel so helpless as there is nothing that I can do until I hear how the repair goes. I am so fed up of living like this as I have had one bad experience after the other.

Thank you for your lovely message - you've been the kindest person so far throughout this whole experience. Wish I still lived in Canada!

Thanks Bonnie
