I'm just curious about this. Lots of women seem to be mentioning wig glue and wig tape for their wigs and that they use it every day. I've occasionally used tape for special situations ;) but usually just throw the wig on with nothing. So I'm curious, do other folks just wear the wig with no tape or glue?

Wearing adhesive wigs are the best choice in my experience. I prefer & suggest tape because then you don't have to wear it to bed -If your comfortable with wearing it for 2 to three days then glue is what you want/higher mantainance on cleaning & relying on hairdresser to apply glue til you learn how to do it yourself/same thing with tape. Whether it's tape or glue you will no longer have to worry about the wind misplacing or blowing off your wig.. You can go swimming( I've got caught in the rain before & it looked normal & dried nicely)- & if someone glides their fingers through your hair they can't feel that it's a wig- it's totally smooth with no fasteners in the back & its customized to the exact shape of your head. The only Con I'd say is they are the most expensive.
Do you have to be completely bald to wear these, Leresa?
No not at all,in fact these places for the most part that have adhesive wigs aren't dedicated for alopecians. It just so happens it's more secure & convenient staying on our heads. It's an upscale wig choice for women who wear them often- I think its easier if you have hair with adhesive wigs because it feels more comfortable & when you sweat it won't loosen the adhesive as much because you have hair in between. It's an easier way to get extensions vs weaving & bonding hair on to someone's own hair. If I had hair I would get glue adhesive. The current wig I just picked up weeks ago is half adhesive in the front & the back has fasteners(less maintanence). Since I've been using tape I have never went back to a reg wig-It just can come off too easy
Where can I find this?

I can highly recommend https://dresslily.com particularly if you've got mid to long hair. The wigs are made with real hair and they are very realistic.

Hi Aimee, where did you say you got your wig? Looking for a back-up curly wig with bangs. 8 inch in length.
I just throw it on also...never tried tape or glue?
Hi Colleen,

I've found that if the wig fits you well (very snug) a dab of top glue at the temples and nape of neck will hold it in place for daily activities and halp the wig hold up longer....Although I love support using tape adds, I find it a pain to cut and place in the am and damaging to my wigs when I remove. For swimming etc....I would probably still use the tape.

Let me know if you come across anything else...I love to try new stuff.
Ok Ladies I have one for you. My daughter is a gymnast and recently decided not to compete because she is afraid her wig will fall off. It has fallen off during practice. We are new to alopecia; will the glue keep the wig from falling off? The tape has not.

Hi, I use tape, just on the front for a little extra security. I have had a few wigs fly off my head :-)
Glue sounds kind of messy. Plus it always comes off the moment I step into the house.

If you want to know more detailed information about wigs, let me know and I will give you some useful suggestions!

I use tape. I wear lace fronts, and the pricier option I had was human hair with a lace front that was held on by tape. When I had more patches of hair and didn't use lace front wigs, I used bobby pins and made the straps as tight as I could stand to make sure it would stay on. I got very adept with how to hold my head a certain way when it was windy! :)
