Hi, Can you just quickly indicate if you have another skin condition besides alopecia, e.g. eczema, psoriasis, etc. I personally have eczema on my hands, at times. Thanks.

Hi Gordon -- can you tell me what cream you're using. I haven't found a good one yet.
I have no other skin condition, just AU.
Reto, I have had some kind of dryness patches periodically throughout my life, even before the AU. In the last 6 months, a large patch of sebhorriac dermatitis (sp) or psoriasis like scaly, itchy and red skin cleared up after 2 yrs of it on top of my left foot and ankle. I used hydrocortizone everyday and eventually it left. I was going through a very stressful time in my life then, and have heard that could be the cause, but I am not sure. I have always had real dry skin. NO real issues other than the AU. I do get a dry irritated patch on the back of my head where my wig tightener rests, I just keep it powdered and go on. I don't see a dermatologist about any of it and haven't since I was 16. Had AA for 26 yrs. Blessings!! Lori
Skin conditions usually arise due to a weakened immune system, digestive disorders, poor diet, unbalanced lifestyle, stress, genetic constitution, and unbalanced emotions.

A great way way to deal with skin conditions is to go on a cleansing diet, exercise, meditate and address the stressors in your life. My exzema and rosacea usually flare up when I eat cheese or have too much wine - lol - damn, two of my favorite things! It clears up when I am in the sun, sand and surf, which I also love.
Thanks all for your replies and information, including the specifics of the skin cream (Thanks Gordon). I appreciate it.
