So I'm only 25, and I am getting balder and balder each month. I have a job in IT, and it's that type of job that requires me to hold meetings, negotiate with partners, and be generally presentable and confident. I feel like I look funny and somewhat pathetic now that my hair looks thin and kind of sad. I feel very insecure when I have to speak to anybody because I can't get over a feeling that everyone is staring and me, or judging me. Don't even get me started on public speaking!

How do I overcome all of this? I am now in the process of treatment but the results will only be visible in months. How do I become confident again?

The foundations for us are career and personal life. You must work your hardest not to give into insecurity. I know that as a male it is harder than women to deal with cosmetic issues. Women today wear extensions, have cosmetic tattoos, and wear wigs and false eyelashes. You could say that many women with alopecia have their bases covered. As a man you have options as well, but they have to be ones that make you comfortable and feel natural. Hair Direct is a company that really caters to mens hair needs. They are honest and they have staff that you can call into and speak with. They are located in P.a and I use them to obtain products for my daughter with Alopecia Universalis. Please give them a call or look at their website. You need to do something before it starts to effect your work and what follow next may be your personal life and we surely do not want that to happen. Time brings confidence and once you figure out how you want to be seen with or without hair you will get your mojo back. Do not let this condition take over your life. Michael J Fox said," Happiness comes in proportion to acceptance" .  Remember this, you are presentable with or without hair don't let alopecia take this away from you.

Have you thought about clipping it really short, or all the way off?  Take control of the situation, like you have to take control of meetings and negotiations.  Own it, and you will find people will respect you.

And I completely agree with Alo-mom's response.  This is just a piece of who you are, don't let it define you.  You were put into your position because you are capable.  Not having hair doesn't change that.

Alopecia is a serious hairloss condition that affects more and more people each year.

Scalp Micropigmentation is a great solution for many people dealing with Alopecia.

Throughout years of my SMP practice, I have worked with big number of people with Alopecia.

Those people were able to regain their confidence through scalp micropigmentation.

I have seen with my own eyes how much this procedure helped them.

Scalp Micropigmentation is a non-surgical and permanent procedure!

Please feel free to contact me with any possible questions you might have.

I know your pain. I work in higher education. a lot of public speaking and networking events. First of all, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I shaved my head and experimented with different clothing styles that helped make me feel more confident. I found than many of the clothes i was wearing simply didn't match my new bald appearance. Try different colours and styles. For some reason i found that smarting up my style helped me feel more confident. Try out different combinations of blazers shirts. High crew neck t shirts. Try to enhance the things you have control over. I recommend shaving your head if your remaining hair is starting to make you feel self conscious. If you are loosing eyebrows and eyelashes experiment with different glasses types. Visit a nearby store. Find a glasses style that suits you. Explain your situation to salesperson and they will help you choose a nice pair. I am dark skinned but i recommend a healthy tan (a subtle fake tan may even out your skin tone as the bald patches sometime leave paler skin underneath). You can gain confidence from your new appearance if you try to enhance the things you are still able to.  I find keeping a healthy weight helps too. You will get used to it and become stronger over time. I tried to change my mindset and I pay less attention to what people think. The truly decent people will accept you no matter what. It may help to explain your situation to your colleagues and they may find ways to support you in your journey.

I feel horrible for you and your situation. I can't help you with your alopecia, but I can help you with your job. I am currently working as a G Suite admin myself and was supported by this guide on what seven things that G Suite admin should know at https://spinbackup.com/blog/gsuite-admin-should-do-seven-things/. I am sure that it will make your job much easier and will help you a lot along the way.

Why are you saying it is horrible?! Don't know what kind of problem you are talking about. You can work remotely and nobody will see anything. But even if you lose this job, I think you can start learning trading and make this your passive income. I like it but prefer to check the ground before stepping on it. Better if you read this page and see how you can invest into trading and get extra rewards. Tell me what you think of futures trading. I hope you know what it is about?
