I have recently moved to the Portland area and am seeking a salon that has experience with alopecia. Does anyone know of one?

I do not know of any salons in Portland, but when you call the salons you want to be sure you detail to them what you are looking for in a human hair wig or synthetic. You want to discuss the size, the ability to part the wig in any direction, a silk top or monofilament top, length, density, straight or wavy and color to name a few items. You want to be sure you know how to care for the wig so that you get as much time out of it as possible. You want to share a picture with them so they can see what you desire, not pushing you into something on the shelf. Be as prepared as possible. Best of luck.

Hi!  I'm not sure what you have in mind but I had a wig cut a few years ago by Chris Gable at Salon 99 in Portland.  I thought she did a nice job...she really listened and was very understanding. She has experience with clients with alopecia and actually created Blinkies--the false eyelashes.  She has a private space too if needed.
