Having read your post, I feel like leaving the responses at zero is like telling you there is nothing that can be done. I don't know you, so I don't really know what could help. What I do know is that, while a forum like this is great for realizing you are not alone, and great for finding people who may understand alopecia in a way that people in your daily life can't, it isn't a substitute for having a network of support around you in real life.

I want to say that it is just hair, that if you give yourself a break, appreciate your small steps forward, and be your own best friend, that you can deal with alopecia and keep moving on in your life. People who care about you, people who know the real you, won't find the activity of your hair follicles changes much about how they see you. Strangers, even if they notice, won't find what is or isn't on your scalp worth bothering about. Who has time to worry about someone else's hair? That leaves all the people in the middle who may be acquaintances, classmates, people you interact with but who don't really know you as a person. You can't control how they react, but you can control how you present yourself to the world. Sometimes faking confidence can get you halfway there. Lots of people with perfect hair deal with insecurities too. Life it too short to spend it paralyzed by worrying about what other people think or ignorant people say.

Hello Ahmad, I am the mother of a daughter with Alopecia Universalis. She lost all her hair in 4 months while in College. I went out to find her the best human hair possible and that has given her the confidence and happiness she needed. She has a fantastic boyfriend and great job in the music industry. She is living her life to the fullest, she is my hero. Ok that being said, if you were my son I would ask you to look up information on the National Alopecia Areata Foundation website. I am not sure where you live so I do not know if you could come the conference in Washington DC in July. This is a place where you can meet people and find different ways to cope. I am phone support person in California and would be glad to talk to you and brain storm with you how to move forward. My email address is Georged5050@gmail.com and my phone number is 310 291 0729. I am here to help you in anyway I can. Call or write anytime.
