While I don't have alopecia, I do have telogen effluvium that won't resolve. I just saw a naturopath yesterday. While a year ago, I would have never seen one, I do think they have their place in medicine. Regular MD's wanted me to take medications like spironolactone and birth control for extended periods of time. The naturopath said they are bandaids to the real problem. She is treating me for elevated liver enzymes and adrenal fatigue. She really feels my main symptoms (acne, oily skin, hairloss and many others from your list) will subside over time when these issues are resolved. At this point, I have nothing to lose since I have refused the treatment from the MD's. I will let you know if I can start crossing off symptoms from your list (there are many!).
Keep me posted if you can. I came across this topic and hair loss the other day while searching again. It will be intersting to see the outcome for you. Is your hair loss like or similar to AA?

Thanks for the feedback, I wish you all the luck in the world.

Take it easy. I love the pictures of your little ones very cute.

I'm very happy for you that issues are somewhat if not all resolved. My case is different I am a celiac also, so not much hope for me. I have used a colon cleanse a few times in the past may I ask which brand you used?

Hugs take care

My 8 daughter with AA had a saliva test last month and we found she had high to normal cortisol but very low DHEA levels which is produced in the adrenal gland. Over Thanksgiving when we put all the kids on the measuring wall, I also discovered that she hasn't grown at all in 8 months. She also has gets fatigued more easily, gets headaches, is intolerant to cold weather, and catches each and every virus all of which points to hypothyroidism. The pediatrician did the standard thyroid test and of course it was normal. That test is only about 30% accurate but the dr act like its not. I think it is all connected to the poor adrenal function. I also read an abstract regarding children with asthma treated with inhaled coritcosteroids develop adrenal suppression. Our naturopathic doctor is the only doctor looking at the big picture and trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle together to help her heal. We are still working on a solution. Regular doctors don't do that. There is way more to AA than hairloss if you ask me.
