i have been thinking long and hard about how to write this so if i don't come across the way i wish to i ask for your forgiveness. well first off' i know i don't have alopecia and I'm concerned because i don't wish to make others feel uncomfortable in any way and i can understand how others must feel.all i can say is that were all pretty much the same people we all have something about ourselves that make us feel self conscience even me and i don't see hair loss as a hindrance in life and the ones that do need to understand that they are far from perfect. i'm talking about the stereo types that put others down because they feel all so perfect i say they really need a 365 degree attitude adjustment in life and see their inner being in a full length mirror. and getting back to the subject my desire in life is to help in anyway i can as others may not know they have helped me to see myself in a better way and i would like to ask how do you feel about the ones here that do not have hair loss. please hold your comments as kind as possible and i greatly understand. thank you so much'

Hi Dave -
Just as you described - allow me to ask for your forgiveness in case you translate my remarks as something to which you did not expect or take offense to.

YOU WROTE - "we all have something about ourselves that make us feel self conscience even me"

SINCE you've entered our world of alopecia , allow us to enter yours and tell us in depth, all about your self conscious issue.
After all , lets level the playing field here shall we ?

YOU WROTE - " i'm talking about the stereo types that put others down because they feel all so perfect i say they really need a 365 degree attitude adjustment "

I WAS never a straight A student - especially in math class but if I was to take a 365 degree turn ... wouldnt that put me just 5 degrees to the left of where I am right now ? ( jus sayin )

YOU WROTE - " i would like to ask how do you feel about the ones here that do not have hair loss. please hold your comments as kind as possible and i greatly understand. thank you so much'

HONESTLY Dave , Anyone on here that doesnt have or that's NOT parents or relatives or close friends of someone that has an alopecia style condition kind of sticks out initially in my radar . ( see my sans comment apology in paragraph one above )

I guess I am the type of guy that will judge this type of person by thier profile picture to maybe get a better understanding of thier intentions to belong to an Alopecia website - even though they dont have or know anyone that has any type of this condition.

Lucky for me , your profile pic speaks for itself.

Great response RoBB. Though I am guessing that Dave means well; one has to wonder what brought him to this site if he is not affected by alopecia (either personally or through a loved one).
As someone who developed this condition relatively later in life (mid-40's); I can honestly say I would have had very little understanding of the emotions that this condition brings to those affected by it until I experienced it first hand.
My test is to see how many women, especially bald women and younger women, a non-alopecia man contacts (as seen on his profile page), how often he mentions physical beauty instead of joining conversations, and how much he stays away from conversations with men. If a man repeats himself to every female or lists a personal e-mail address or website off of this site, especially to those under 18, that's the time to alert Cheryl and rj.

If someone, male or female, wants to promote his/her own religious or medical theory to "help the poor alopecians," he or she will soon be found out by the older members.Unfortunately, there are many young, needy and gullible people who want to hear, "You are beautiful" from ANYONE, and may not be savvy enough to let friendships develop the natural and safe way. There is so much more to this than just being complimented about the face or eyes...
Did Dave mean well? Why was he thinking so long and hard about us? His point was? He did not say what his self conscious issue were. I have a strong idea about a few that came to mind. If he really believe he have some issues, it seems he would be using google to help resolve his and not ours.

Peace.
I'm done. I might say things that would take Dave to a place he never been before and I won't being asking for forgiveness for it.
SEEMS Dave canceled his account or was tossed .

NEXT ??
Hiphipharay! The witch is gone!!!!! But remember he/she may come in another form(name). Do keep our eyes open for the rest of our sisters and brothers. Have a wonderful and safe weekend.
