About Me:: I live in sunny (?) south Manchester, UK, with my Civil Partner Nick. We've been together for seven years, and married for two.

I had Alopecia Areata on and off for about ten years, which developed into Alopecia Universalis in July 2007. Nick has been really supportive through both my AA and AU.

Quite honestly I'm not massively bothered about my bald scalp, I'd had a Number 1 or 2 cut for several years anyway, so that hasn't been too big a change. But I am still kind of missing my eyebrows, eyelashes and body hair. In particular the feeling of clothing against my skin, no longer buffered by a thick coat of monkey-like hair is taking quite some getting-used to. Perhaps I should become a naturist....

On the plus side, I can stay in bed ten minutes longer every morning as I no longer have to shave every day, which is a real bonus!
