About Me:: Hi Everyone,

My name is Jessica I've always been a person who shed a ton of hair but then in May of 07 when I was pregnant with my third child which was a Boy!! I started to notice it getting worse (shedding) it eventually turned into a blad spot behind my left ear. By the day of my son's birth I was bald from my left temple down the side of my head around the back to the other side of my right temple. At this point Icould hide it still with the hair on top but looked so thin so I really looked bad. Anyway as soon as I could get into the Dematologist I was started on the Steroid shots and was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata the Ophiasis pattern. In December I shaved my head I was so sick of looking like crap. I got my first wig and well to say the least it really didn't suit me. I guess I should have waited to shave until after I picked out the wig so they could see what I looked like.
I wore the thing a few times but as soon as I had regrowth and stubble it came off and into a box it went. I ended up with total regrowth after months of the shots and all the other stuff I was trying.
It's now July 08 and have noticed a couple of new spots starting and shedding again oh and body hair falling out along with part of and eyebrow well gave it a shot but at this point I don't know if I'll try fighting my body anymore. I'm under more stress just wondering everyday what the next will bring, if the shots will work the next time and all the emotions that go with this loss. I guess the biggest thing that scares me about losing my hair is how it will change my life, and how to adapt a positive attitde about it. Of couses my husband, children, friends and family accept me it's trying to accept myself thats difficult right now. So when I happened onto this site I was totally excited to find out that there are a ton of people in the same situation and so many with a great outlook.

Over it!!

Ok so I'm not sure about anyone else but I'm so sick and tired of what comes out of the mouths of poeople who have no idea about Alopocia Areata! I am new to this disease I've only had AA for about a year and a long terrible year. After shaving it all off and it growing back I'm now left with a cute bob, with a few new bald spots and thinning eyebrows. I've heard of vacuum wigs. I just think they are so expensive. I think you need to shave your head completely if you want to wear vacuum wigs. I really need to find some information about those wigs.

My favourite brands are Noriko, Gisela Mayer and I also like Rene of Paris and my wigs have a monofilmament. With those wigs I can still have some hair underneath. Well....now I should think about vacuum wigs since there'S not much hair left.

Do you have a website or do you know the prices?

sorry that I haven't replied in so long. I haven't been on this site for a while trying to forget about this whole hair thing. The deal is that I'm not able to! I start to lose my body hair. I've got no hair on my arms, legs etc. Part of my eyelashes has gone, too.

How do you deal with that? How is your situation at the moment?

So today i came home from work and took my clippers and shaved me head! ;o) except after i was like shit what did i do! but i was just sick of it! so i wore my vaccuum wig today for a short while. still fits. its super hot though. i had been use to it before now i gotta get use to it again!
Miss Delaney is growing soo fast! she is talkin sooo much more! ill talk back in her language back and she will get such a kick out of it! she is over 14lbs now. she is such a blessing! i miss her so much when i am not with her! ive been having a stressful week! and been soo exhausted! I CANT WAIT TILL TOMOrrw is over! weeekend relaxing!~

I was very worried about the hair when i first ordered the piece then when i saw it and felt it was absolutely impressed! it was great! i had more comments on the wigs then i thinki ever had on my real hair!
sorry i havent written in a while i havent been on here. (im always signed in but never really on the computer!) ive been soo tired and working alot! I hope you are well. Im think bout shaving my head (ive actaully got the clippers like 2 and stopped myself i just couldnt do it) but me hair is falling out still and the spot in the back is gettin bigger!@!!!! i hate it! but at least i know what i a,m dealing with all over agian! neways i wish you luck with your wig dicision i think you will be the happiest with a vaccuum wig!!! or the other cap one that has the same hair that the vaccuum wig does you just dont have to shave your head!
