I am sure I will... seems so fun and freeing! I have only known 2 others with aa and au. I have had aa since 14 and never went out in public without a wig until my friend with au talked me into it! So last decI finally did it wow it was amazing! I have not don it since wearing a wig to me is like wearing underclothing..lol... you don't leave home without them..hahaha ..

Hi Christine! Just stopping by to say hello and nice to meet you here. How's the weather in the sunshine state? I sure wish I were on the beach somewhere right now, think it'd be any cooler? - Have a great day!

Oh yes, I'm sure we could share some stories. I've hung out in LA (lower Alabama) for years. Being in the south is not necessarily bald female friendly (at least it wasn't while I was growing up. It has got somewhat better, but there's still room for improvement. Being a child of the 70's you'd have thought that things would've been different,I mean I wasn't living in a commune or anything. I don't know, maybe they thought I was one of the Hari Krishna's (not sure about spelling there). I don't recall running around w/ white gauzey robes and a tambourine, oh well. It has got just a little more accepting. I would love to chat sometime.

Hi Christine, I saw you on the group "Adults who have grown up w/ Alopecia". I, too, began this journey at age 13. It has been one of many hills and valleys, with a few twist and turns along the way. I have become comfortable with myself over the years and sometimes wear my wig, sometimes not. I'm 51 now, and as you can see having hair is not my #1 priority. There are some days when I don't even put on my face, I just go bare. I remember when I was younger feeling as if losing my hair was the end of my life (and I guess it was as I knew it at the time). Then, I remember thinking - "well at least I still have my eyebrows and eyelashes", SURPRISE. Life is just one practical joke after another, isn't it? Once I learned that I was none of that stuff, I was okay w/o wearing the hair. Right now it is hot, here in Alabama, so I'm not wearing the hair much. This winter, when the weather becomes cold, I'll either wear my hair or a hat. Anyway, I just stopped by to say hello and was glad to meet you (in the ethernet kind of way). Later, Marie aka "knittycat"

Hello Christine,
I am just now getting back to the wonderful messages of thoughts and prayers for my daughter, Kristin. I had the best sleep in 10 days last night because she is home from the hospital. Thank you for thinking of us and your prayers were heard loud and clear. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Love and Hugs,
Dotty
