About Me:: My name is Alex and I'm 24 years old. I live in the Orlando area and just finished up my first full year as a 1st grade teacher and I'm currently doing the retail thing for the summer at my favorite store. I attended the University of Central Florida and was a sister of Kappa Kappa Gamma. I love my friends, family and sisters. I have had Alopecia since I was 12 years old and have experienced every stage of hair loss as well as regrowth. All my pictures are of me with wigs on. I have two that are amazing and am rarely seen without them.

My Story

So I figured I'd write a quick blog detailing my history with Alopecia since I didn't feel like writing all that in the "about me" section. Alopecia runs in my family. My younger sister developed AA when she was 4, had a couple bald spots and then it all grew back. She's now 23 and hasn't lost any hair since. At 11:16am on April 13th, 2008, Daria said…: Hi again. I just got a new wig online. It's a cheapy....I just wanted to see the style on me....but I wound up actually LOVING it!!! I was totally surprised. Apparently Revlon has a line of wigs called Simply Beautiful that are made especially for women with medical hair loss. The inside of the wig is EXACTLY the same as my very expensive, human hair wig. It's the lace type with the monofilament part. Anyway, including tax and shipping, it only cost me $126!!!!!!! Like I said, it's gorgeous and comfortable. I know it's synthetic and wont' last as long, but I swear it's just as nice as my real one and at that price -- hell, I can buy a new one every couple of months!!!! You should check out the line...even if only to wear to the beach or something. Mine is called "Revlon Encounter." Take care!!
