maybe you will find it's a stupid question but i'd like to know your opinion. do you think that it's more difficult to live a hairloss as an adult than when it happens during childhood? i'm so worry for anthéa when she will grow up..

hello, it's already difficult to find words to explain what i feel face to the alopecia of anthéa but IN ENGLISH, wouuuh!! so anthéa began to lose her hairs two years ago. she never had lots of hairs and it was very curly (her dad is from ivory coast). at the beginning, her doctor thought it could be due to the separation of their parents. but she continued to lose her hairs, and her eye brows and eyelashes, but little by little. since, october 2007, she's bald (i hate this word and in french,… Continue

She used to have dark brown hair and long eyelashes.. but now, three years later, it's just alyssa and I accept it now and I try not to cover her up so much.. It started with patchy hair loss and progressivly got worse. she asked us to shave her head back in December and ever since has not worn hats or wigs to cover up. She seems to be handling it well for now. We've taught her to educate people so that they won't be so cruel and curious. We recently went to the national alopecia areata foundation conference where Alex played in a day camp with other children with alopecia. Us parents went to support group meetings. It was an awesome experience to be around so many people going through the same thing.

Mes enfants sont d'origine chinoise et mon mari et moi sommes 'blancs' (mon dieu que je déteste ces catégories.... enfin, faut faire avec)..... Nous sommes nous aussi une famille multiraciale... Nous habitons Montréal donc mes enfants ne sortent pas du lot: dans la classe de ma fille Clémence (5 ans), il n'y avait qu'elle qui avait un nom francophone québécois....et elle a les yeux bridées ;-)))
Tu disais que ton fils s'est fait traité de 'noir'.... est-ce la 1er fois? C'est inadmissible!!
