- I've had Alopecia Areata since I was 11. I wore wigs for 19 long years but 9 years ago I turned 30 and had my "coming out party" as The Bald Chick!
I am (as of the last 2 weeks) a New York Times Best Selling Author. My 1st book I Love You More has sold over 200,000 copies.
I have a company called I Shine, Inc thats mission is to generate the conversation of love around the world through books, music, speaking, TV, film and the web.
I have a school program called Self-Esteem through Love: Empowering our Children to Shine! The first lesson I share about is "Just Be Yourself" and how I finally learned to embrace that simple though not always easy lesson after many years. You can find out more about my book and school program at

Alopecia on Entourage
I was catching up on my Tivo's episodes of Entourgare (I know...not the most enlightened show) but they mentioned Alopecia twice in one episode. Not really anything about it but just that someone had it which I found strange unless they were obvioulsy trying to bring attention to it. How/When My Alopecia started (a long one...)
