About Me:: Hi my name is Cindy and I've had Alopecia since I was three. It first started with all my hair, eyebrows and lashes falling out. Then at seven it all grew back in, and then once again chunks of hair soon started falling out, etc....you know the drill. It wasn’t easy getting through grade school with the constant teasing and jokes about my bald spots but it definitely made me into a much stronger person. The rest of my educational career was great thankfully!

Then, when I was 23 or so, my hair once again began to fall out heavily. I used extensions, falls and whatever else I could think of to hide it. I would do the injections on a weekly basis and would even have a treatment where acid is put on the scalp as well. Ouch is all I have to say about that! Then one day, I decided that I would rather go through life without hair than keep enduring these painful treatments. After twenty years of injections, enough was enough!

Now I’m happy to say that I have finally fully embraced who I am. I currently use a wig but not to hide my condition anymore. I just love trying different looks, colors and hairstyles. I'm addicted, haha. I'm also blessed to have a wonderful boyfriend who supports me and thinks I'm beautiful with or without hair. In a nutshell I think I'd say I'm artistic, intelligent, beautiful, sweet, crazy, creative, fun, cute, ditzy, musical, and giving. Probably missed a couple ;-) I love to dance, go out with my friends on the weekends, go to museums, draw, sing, and I just LOVE TO SHOP!!!

So a paralegal, wow, that probably keeps you pretty busy! I just hang out at home with my 2 year old Chloe. But I have a personal training certificate and I would like to take some courses to become a nutritionist!
